DICTIONARY BROKEN

Unnamed Fairfax staff journalists – we’re talking Fairfax here so the term is used very loosely – try to make a big deal out of nothing:

‘Don’t blush baby’ saga: Chris Gayle repeats Mel McLaughlin interview comments in PSL spot

Former West Indies batsman Chris Gayle has once again used his now infamous “don’t blush” catchphrase on a sideline reporter – this time before stepping onto the oval for an overnight Pakistan Super League clash.

Referencing January’s awkward Big Bash League interview with Network Ten journalist Mel McLaughlin, the controversial former Melbourne Renegades batsman signed off with retired Australian opener Tom Moody during a pitchside interview with the jibe: “Cheers Tom. Don’t blush, Tom”.

In attempting to turn nothing into something “saga”, “catchphrase” and “jibe” are misused. Morons.

It’s good to see that Gayle maintains his sense of humour after the “Don’t blush, baby” media mauling.
