Perth man Paul North collects historic advertising signs, displaying them on the walls of his pub, J.B. O’Reilly’s. The Health Department has ordered that 26 of the signs must be removed. The reason? They advertise tobacco products.
North’s refusal to take down the signs could prove costly:
The Health Department said Mr North faces a $1000 infringement for ignoring the order or a $10,000 fine if the issues goes to court. His company could also be fined up to $40,000.
Hmm, wonder what the fine is for lighting up? A health inspector, that is.
Update: The WA Health Department has bigger problems to concern itself with.
Update II: The signs can stay.
