Experts have repeatedly told us that climate change will result in more frequent and extreme weather events. These warnings didn’t pan out for the 2015-2016 cyclone season:
The 2015–16 Australian region cyclone season was the least active tropical cyclone season since reliable records started during 1969, with only three named tropical cyclones developing in the region.
The Bureau of Meteorology predicting a rather more active 2016-2017 cyclone season, the number of cyclones forecast to exceed the average of 11:

Mother nature apparently didn’t get the memo, only three less than spectacular cyclones so far forming in a season that extends from November though April.
