BUTTHOLE BALLET

Leftists are making asses of themselves at the Wiener Festwochen (Vienna Festival):

Everything becomes a hole, that’s how Paul B. Preciado described the deconstruction of sex and liberation from the phallus in the Counter-Sexual Manifesto. And so the nine performers of the Brazilian artist group Macaquinhos (Monkeys) go beyond, starting with the North-South divide of their own body. The anus as a physical metaphor for the South, socially delegitimized and excluded, subject to the normative North by colonialism, capitalism, and patriarchy. Macaquinhos questions the production of knowledge, the eminence of interpretation, and, last but not least, the social construction of body and art. No other performance has triggered such violent reactions in Brazil. But this is no wonder, as the performance does away with stereotypes like the much-praised freedom of movement and the sensuous physicality of Brazilians. The removal of body-related taboos is taken literally, and is implemented by the choreography. In dance constellations with different choreographies, the performers produce an associative attraction which always puts the audience in unusual situations. In short, this is about the anus, the most democratic and tabooed body orifice of all. The performance is a tribute to beauty and freedom, away from an industrial porn aesthetic. The collective Macaquinhos negates hierarchies and produces diversity from below. Decolonization deluxe!

Rumour has it the performance stinks.
