Imagine you’re an armed police office on patrol in London when you receive a vague radio call to attend an incident at Borough Market near London Bridge.

Within minutes you arrive at a chaotic crime scene. You must instantly assess the situation, arm yourself, identify the assailants, consider the nature of the threat, assess the potential for civilian casualties should you open fire and only then neutralise the threat.

The eight police officers who fired around 50 rounds in neutralising the latest London terrorists while wounding only one innocent bystander are truly heroes deserving of the thanks of all Britons.
