Despite the White House Correspondents Association, an organisation dominated by clueless leftists, knowing full well what they were signing up for when they booked leftist Michelle Wolf, they have distanced themselves from the comedienne’s crass performance:

A day after comedian Michelle Wolf’s routine at the annual White House Correspondents Awards dinner sparked outrage, WHCA president Margaret Talev said the routine was “not in the spirit” of its mission. However, she stopped short of an apology for a performance that many felt crossed the line.

Talev claimed she was responding to member complaints that Wolf’s performance, filled with anger at the current administration and causing an uproar and soul-searching among both sides of the aisle in the fourth estate, did not reflect well on the organization.

“Last night’s program was meant to offer a unifying message about our common commitment to a vigorous and free press while honoring civility, great reporting and scholarship winners, not to divide people,” Talev said. “Unfortunately, the entertainer’s monologue was not in the spirit of that mission.”

Feminist Clementine Ford sees the performance differently:

If you haven’t yet seen comedian Michelle Wolf’s blistering set at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, then get thee to a quiet corner and settle in for twenty minutes of brilliance.

Ford conveniently fails to link to Wolf’s “20 minutes of brilliance”. Ford continues:

The Trump administration (and its legion of frothing supporters) love to scream FAKE NEWS and SNOWFLAKE, but when it suits them to retcon facts to indulge their own naked oversensitivity, they grab it with all the enthusiasm of a…well, you know what.

Wolf didn’t comment negatively on Sanders’ looks at that dinner. That’s a fact.

The fallout since has not been about whether or not Wolf made light of abortion or unashamedly called the President a pussy, both of which would normally pique the ire of conservatives. No, instead she’s facing the ludicrous accusation that she disparaged [Sarah Huckabee] Sanders’ appearance.

Ford ludicrously categorises MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski and the New York Times’ Maggie Habermas as “conservative” Trump supporters:

Conservative journalist Mika Brzezinski tweeted, “Watching a wife and mother be humiliated on national television for her looks is deplorable.”

Maggie Haberman from the New York Times tweeted, “That [Sanders] sat and absorbed intense criticism of her physical appearance, her job performance, and so forth, instead of walking out, on national television, was impressive.”

Ford continues:

Wolf didn’t comment negatively on Sanders’ looks at that dinner. That’s a fact.

Yet the video embedded in Ford’s Daily Life piece bears this caption:

  1. Chubby Ms Clammy needs a Lifeline as well as her daily dose of McDonalds burgers! Obviously her capacity for logical and analytical thought varies according to her blood-sugar level. [Whoops! Did I make a comment about her appearance?]
